Nice venue, neat and clean. Breakfast was excellent.

Staff friendly, venue neat and clean. Breakfast was excellent.

There were no towels when we checked in. The aircon was not functioning properly.

Our stay was fantastic

Dinner was lovely, we really enjoyed it. However, we did not have an opportunity to taste the breakfast, as we were busy with other activities until the breakfast time lapsed.

Traveling road to the Equestrian Estate was not too friendly specially that is narrow and difficult to use with other road users

Cleanliness could be better, window blinds were dirty and had bugs As soon as entered room, there was a damp smell, maybe putting and leaving aircon after cleaning room n before guests arrive could help with smell this could also be to the shower with jot enough ventalation Restaurant service was not so great in terms of service - long time to get serviced and the cleanliness of table, plates and utensils was not up to standard however Sifuso there were certain waiters who made up on service such as Sifuso and another lady on our first night - great job to these 2 waiters Hiking trail boards not clear so caused confusion

A Tranquil Setting to Rest and Relax before the National Parks, Game Reserves, and Scenic Wonders

Dunkeld Country & Equestrian Estate is an elegant resort facility in a beautiful rural setting amid trees on a lovely trout lake but just a few minutes from the Graskop town center. Horses wandered freely on the property while we were there, and the only sounds heard were the breezes whispering through the trees. If you're coming from abroad, Graskop generally and Dunkeld Estate specifically is a convenient, quiet place to get sufficiently far out of metro Jo'burg after arrival, recharge your batteries, and 'chill' for a day or two before plunging into Blyde River Canyon and the Kruger - which was exactly what we needed after 24 hours travel from California. The management and staff are very friendly and accomodating, the bar and restaurant food excellent, and the facilities quite nice. I would definitely stay there again!

Try as I may, I can't recall any negatives, so if there were any, they were not of sufficient importance to come to mind after the fact.

The scenery and location is great and accomadation is quite spacious.

The accomadation was quite old and curtain rails etc.. came off.The price for the value does not match given thr age of the buildings.There is also no wifi in the actual accommodation and it is only available in certain areas.

No electricity even though there was no load shedding.

I loved the environment and all it has to offer. The villa was beautiful and modern.

There was no scheduled load shedding during our stay however we had no electricity from the check in time until 23.30. We were told it's an eskom fault. The facility needs to have a backup power system. There was not enough towels for 8 people. We requested for towels and it took very long to reach us. I requested for a late checkout , I was rudely told that is it impossible to get a late checkout. I insisted because we were without electricity the previous night and there was no other guests arriving and only after that was given leeway.

Lovely weekend getaway for the family.

Lovely location about 10mins to the Main Street but far enough away that you feel you are in the wilderness. The staff are super friendly. The accommodation was comfortable and had everything we needed for a weekend away.

Some smaller issues that wouldn’t stop us going back such as the room only having a double bed, the place could have been cleaned slightly better (some cob webs in the corners), and no cork screw to open wine. But the restaurant helped us open the wine, the cleaner was super friendly and made up our little ones cot in the cutest way.

The relaxed atmosphere

2 rooms don't have bathrooms, so that was really bad as the occupants of those rooms had to wait for others to finish in their rooms. There is no common bathroom as well.

Second time wasn't such a charm ????

We really enjoyed the serenity of the place, the lovely views and animals Roaming freely.

The restaurant barely had any items on the menu or even meals that were advertised as part of the special - a simple thing like juice was not available throughout our stay. Being woken up as early as 7am by the leaf blower was the worst - a holiday is meant for rest and sleeping in Housekeeping didn't change our towels the first morning. Instead, we had to use wet towels again

Such a lovely country side stay

The property was very lovely and the rooms were exceptional. We had a lovely time walking around and exploring the facilities and the trout pools all over the property. We also visited the Equestrian Estate which was immaculate. The Security staff at the gate was very friendly and helpful.

The only issue that I had with our stay was the staff. For a Country and Equestrian estate we had much higher expectations of the staff. When we arrived there was already some back-and-forth about the booking. Whenever we had a question about facilities or bookings the staff manning the reception was unsure and had to ask another staff member (which was done in our presence in a language that we do not understand, which is extremely rude). Also, we had to leave a bit earlier on Sunday and requested to have breakfast half an hour early, which the staff did not even try to accommodate. In the end the only thing that was available was a breakfast package. In my opinion I think the staff of such an esteemed estate should be well trained and exceptionally hospitable.

The property was neat and the view was excellent. On site facilities was good as well.

The smell of cat urine in the bedroom was awful. Something needs to be done about it.

Beautiful setting. The staff is so friendly and welcoming from the gate keeper to the hotel staff. Our first stay at the Dunkeld Country Estate and I just love it.

The resort is very beautiful, but we were discriminated against

The property is very beautiful, I enjoyed my morning walks. Also the breakfast was delicious!

The staff at the reception moved us from room 7 to room 8 to accommodate the (White) guests who complained about the dirty couch. It’s quite disheartening that young Black people still get such treatment and on top of that we were not given the map of the resort but other guests were asked if “they were familiar with the resort” and shown the map. The staff at the reception can do better, they prioritise White guests over Blacks.

the Estate was great, good location and we loved the farm look and feel, great to have the horses wondering around too They did advertise DSTV in the room but there was none, that was disappointing.

The accommodation was comfortable enough however the beds were a bit too soft for us...

RESORT NEEDS A GENERATOR FOR POWER OUTAGES, WE HAD NO ELECTRICITY FROM WHEN WE CHECKED IN UNITL 23:00 THAT EVENING. SO, NO WATER PRESSURE TO SHOWER AND HAD TO DRIVE INTO TOWN TO WATCH THE SPRINGBOK RUGBY. RESTUARANT IN EQESTRIAN ESTATE WAS CLOSED.

Amazing

I loved everything about my stay . The room was exactly what i expected. I would really come back again .

The staff at the 1883 restaurant was a bit slow with service. Apart from that my stay was amazing, I would recommend it for anyone to go .
